Top 5 Excursions in Jamaica

Traveling to Jamaica and hoping to get out and explore? Check out these Top 5 Excursions in Jamaica that will make you want to go back over and over again.

Rick’s Cafe

Voted one of the Ten Best Bars IN THE WORLD and you won’t be disappointed. From food, drinks, DJs, dancing, cliff divers, boats, a sunset to never forget and of course the view of the ocean! The water below is stunning and you’re welcome to wade in or brave the many jump-off points on the side of the cliff. It is an absolutely stunning sight to behold and I love going back time and time again. Bring cash, water shoes, or sandals and, of course, your bravery.

Luminous Lagoon

Imagine glowing waters all around you as you swim around at night. You start off with a sunset cruise to the lagoon and are introduced to what makes the water glow. Like, it REALLY GLOWS, It’s crazy! There are bioluminescent algae that live in the water. When the algae is disturbed it reacts and looks as if it is glowing. This is one of a handful of places in the world that has this very special phenomenon taking place. Wear a bathing suit, bring a camera, and just enjoy the time in the water. Regular water will never be as cool.

The Blue Hole

Just a quick 15 to 20-minute drive from Ocho Rios. It’s not so commercialized yet (not like Dunns River Falls) it’s quieter. The earlier you get there the less likely you’ll have any tourists around you. There are loads of lush greenery and tropical flowers to capture photos of but once you get there all you will want to do is go for a swim. Definitely bring water shoes or sneakers/trainers you won’t mind getting wet or dirty.

Scotchies Jerk Chicken Montego Bay

If you want full-on Jamaican flavor then you need to make a stop at Scotchies. From Jerk Chicken, Pork, and fish your palate will not be disappointed. There are also drinks, alcoholic and on-alcoholic to be enjoyed. It’s like a national landmark for deliciousness - you need to stop here if you’re a foodie and visiting Jamaica. Think Authentic Street food!!! Delish! Bring cash and your appetite.

Floyd’s Pelican Bar

Floating in the ocean you’ll find Flyod’s pelican bar. You can only get there by boat but is 100% worth the day trip. Sitting in the middle of the ocean you can enjoy a red stripe, some snacks, and relax on the dock to enjoy the view. Bring cash! Local Currency is best - but American dollars are accepted

Simple menu - Red stripe, rum punch, rum, sodas, and fish, lobster, and sodas. If you know you’re going to eat, call your order ahead as they sell out quickly.
