7 Tips for Booking Cheap Flights

Just a quick list of Tips for Booking Cheap Flights!

Be Flexible with your Dates

Check out Skiplagged.com - but be aware that some routes are CARRY ON ONLY! The reason this site is so popular for some travelers is that some routes extend PAST YOUR final destination and that is why it ends up being cheaper. For example, there may be a flight you’re looking for from Philadelphia to Denver and instead of going direct, the route is actually Philly -> Denver -> Seattle. So only take a carry-on with you because your bags would end up in Seattle and no one needs that.

Fly Budget Airlines - Spirit, Southwest, Frontier - all great airlines with decent prices.

Try Not to Go Direct- If you don’t have to go direct sometimes flying with 1 stop will be cheaper.

Mix and Match your Airlines (Skiplagged can help with this and Expedia or Google Flights) - Sometimes booking one way on one airline and then another one way on another will help bring the cost down.

Get a Travel Credit Card and use points and miles - Best advice ever! If you fly American quite often you should definitely sign up for their frequent flyer program and also get one of their travel credit cards because you can rack up some serious points and miles on there. My favorite is the Chase Sapphire Preferred because you can book with many travel partners.

Download the Hopper App and Watch pricing - This is a great app that helps you watch your preferred route of travel for an extended period of time. You can set it to notify you if a flight drops under a certain price point.

There are loads more suggestions I could write up but I don’t want to overwhelm you with information. These suggestions will help you on your way.
